Being asked to read Anna Karenina is like being asked to watch every episode of Friends.

At the heart of the circle, you’ve got a dark haired brother and sister. Ross = Stiva Monica = Anna

Like Monica when she fell in love with Chandler, Anna goes to ridiculous extremes to cover up the scandal even though its obvious to everyone else.

It’s working, all in all. There are excellent plot twists, delicious scandals, true hurts and sorrows. But Friends was ten seasons. It took us a decade of our lives to watch their lives unfold.

Anna Karenina is in 8 parts. I think of it like a tv show. There are roughly 30-35 chapters in each part. It works out to about twenty tv episodes in my mind per season. It would actually make fantastic tv. But I’m only through two seasons! How will I make it through six more seasons in a month? This isn’t even the only book I have to read! Yikkes.
